OPTION-TO-BUY WAS KEY TO DEAL

Barford + Co have reported the letting of Unit 3 Windover Court, Huntingdon to Topper Cases Ltd. who are already in occupation of premises directly opposite. The company is one of many that is reporting better trading conditions as the economy emerges from the depths of the recent recession.

Topper Cases was established some 66 years ago and specialises in the manufacture and supply of cases for a wide range of applications.

The property is an industrial/ warehouse unit of approximately 2,913 sq ft with a good basic specification including 3 phase power and roller shutter door access.

A new five year lease has been agreed with the tenant also being granted an option to acquire the freehold interest of the property at a pre-agreed price.

Howard Westgate, Associate Director at Barford + Co dealt with the transaction on behalf of the landlord and commented “The property was of initial interest to the tenant due to its proximity to their existing premises, however, it was the option to purchase that really made this deal happen".

Richard Hucklesby, Director at Topper Cases Ltd said ‘’Taking the property on a lease was the most sensible option for us initially but, looking longer term, we needed the ability to secure the premises properly. Barford + Co worked with us in this respect and we arrived at an outcome that was agreeable to all parties’’.
