PLANNING PERMISSION WIDENED FOR CAMBRIDGESHIRE INDUSTRIAL UNITS TO FACILITATE LETTING

 

St Neots Chartered Surveying and Planning firm Barford + Co has been instructed to secure a new tenant for warehouse premises at 17 and 18 West Newlands Industrial Estate, Somersham following relocation of their client’s operation.

To facilitate the letting of the units, Barford + Co’s Planning Department has been successful in securing planning permission for the change of use of the property to general industrial uses, which under permitted development can also be used for light industrial (B1) and warehousing (B8) uses.

Simon Tindle, Associate Director at Barford + Co, dealt with the planning application and commented: ‘’Utilising our specialist knowledge of the local industrial market, we were able to support the planning application with a robust planning statement detailing the suitability of general industrial premises on this estate.

“This was taken on board and led to an approval by the Local Authority. The resultant planning permission provides the flexibility to market the premises to a wider range of businesses which in the long term will create local employment opportunities.”
