A large development site in Royston, Hertfordshire with outline planning permission for up to 330 houses is new to the market and offers are now invited from prospective developers, announces Barford + Co.

Barford + Co, one of Cambridgeshire’s leading Chartered Surveying and Planning firms,
announced back in June 2015 that a planning application for the site had been successful.

Now, following the completion of the required legal process the permission has finally been issued and the site is for sale. With a residential development area of 26.7 acres and a gross area of approximately 42 acres, which includes proposed chalk grassland and woodland, and community open space, this is an attractive opportunity for developers.

The site is located on the north side of Newmarket Road approximately 1.3 km east of the town centre with 30% of the units earmarked for affordable housing.

“The land had been considered as part of several planning applications and a Local Plan in 2013 but when these timelines slipped we advised the landowner that an early planning permission could be achieved. Finally in June 2015 the North Hertfordshire District Council resolved to grant planning permission ahead of its Local Plan programme and we are now delighted to be marketing the site for development.

“The development will meet the pressing demand for housing in the area, as well as provide additional community benefits including a community open space. It will also help fund an extended bus service and improvements to school and health provision.
