Howard Westgate, a senior member of the professional team at St Neots based commercial property consultancy Barford + Co, has recently qualified with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), announces the company.

Howard, an Associate Director in the company’s  Agency Department, has worked at Barford + Co since 2012, and in that time has concluded some of the  largest commercial property transactions across the Huntingdonshire and mid Beds areas.

Howard’s qualification with RICS means that he is now practising as a Chartered Surveyor, bringing the total number of such Surveyors at Barford + Co to eight.

Commenting on his achievement, Howard said: “Even though I have worked in the industry for 15 years, qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor with RICS is still an important achievement for me both professionally and personally.

“It’s a widely recognised stamp of approval by the industry and it gives clients further confidence that we are upholding the high and rigorous standards set by the professional body.”

Phil Halmshaw, Director, said: “As a firm operating to the highest professional standards, it is very important to us to have qualified professionals demonstrating to our clients and other professionals with whom we work that we take professional conduct, expertise and operating practices very seriously. Howard has the experience of 15 years at the cutting edge of the local property scene and that is now supplemented by the significant achievement of him becoming formally qualified.

“Howard’s qualification as Chartered Surveyor follows a string of other personnel at Barford + Co obtaining their RICS qualifications,” continued Mr Halmshaw. “We are very proud to have maintained our 100% first-time pass rate for APC candidates.”
