TECHNOLOGY COMPANY RELOCATES TO ST IVES FROM CAMBRIDGE TO SUPPORT MODERNISATION PLANS

A firm providing vehicle fleet routing and dispatch software to taxi operators and local authorities has relocated to new offices in St Ives to reflect the bright future of the company, with St Neots based Chartered Surveying and Planning Practice Barford + Co brokering the deal.

DDS Digital Dispatch, which operates globally, was based in Bar Hill in Cambridge since 1992, when the industry looked very different in terms of the technology used to communicate between fleets of vehicles and the main operator, requiring a certain specification of office.

Now, with many operators embracing DDS’ latest cloud based software, the company decided to start looking for new, bright, clean and modern offices along the A14 corridor of Cambridgeshire that would reflect the advancement of the technology.

Just recently, DDS moved into the ground floor of LDH House, high quality office premises on the prestigious St Ives Business Park.

Andrew Cindrey, Director of Finance & Operations for DDS’ European activities, said: “DDS now enjoys a new, purpose built, spacious and open plan office within walking distance of the guided busway/cycleway with all the facilities a 21st century technology company could wish for, at a significantly lower cost than nearby Cambridge city centre.

“Whilst the costs, both financially and in business disruption, cannot be ignored when relocating, the benefits of partnering with the right agent to find the ideal premises brings enormous rewards in terms of employee welfare, engagement and enthusiasm, not to mention the positive impact on client impressions when visiting.”

Felicity Paddick is Chartered Surveyor at Barford + Co, she said: “LDH House offers office accommodation to a very high standard and the superior quality, modern specification was the perfect fit for DDS.

“With the cost of commercial property in Cambridge rising at a staggering rate, businesses are increasingly looking to neighbouring towns including St Ives, Huntingdon and St Neots, which offer competitive accommodation at reduced rates as well as convenient locations for major trunk roads including the A14, A1 and M11.

“Businesses seeking to retain a Cambridgeshire location, without the city centre price tag, are spoilt for choice with a range of business parks and industrial estates in towns along the A14 corridor which offer high quality premises for a fraction of the cost.”

Barford + Co continues to market two smaller suites within LDH House; Suite 2 totals 43 sq m (463 sq ft) and Suite 3 53 sq m (570 sq ft) and both provide excellent modern facilities.

Felicity Paddick commented: “It is rare to market suites of this size in such prestigious buildings and it is anticipated that the interest will be strong”.

In addition to this, Barford + Co are also marketing Si One, St Ives Business Park, with joint agents Lambert Smith Hampton.

Si One is able to offer suites from 960 sq ft to 7,561 sq ft. The suites are fitted out to a very high specification and benefit from air conditioning, fibre optic broadband, remote door entry, LG7 lighting and an eight person lift.

The first floor suite, in particular, has been fitted out to a very high standard to provide a reception, boardroom, central meeting rooms whilst retaining an open plan working environment.
