St Neots Rugby Club will be flying six brand new flags at the St Neots Festival of Rugby thanks to a donation from local firm Barford + Co.

Barford + Co, the St Neots based firm of Chartered Surveyors and Planning Consultants, has donated the flags to the Minis teams of St Neots Rugby Club, with the flags being used for the first time at the St Neots Festival of Rugby taking place over the weekend of 22-24 April.

St Neots Rugby Club has six Minis teams training and playing competitively at home and from under 7s through to under 12s. These new flags, funded and donated by Barford + Co, will help the players identify their teammates during training and matches.

The flags will have their first official outing at the St Neots Festival of Rugby and will thereafter be used at every training session, tournament and festival by the Rugby Club.

Sheila Smyth, Director of Professional Services at Barford + Co, presented the flags to the Club, and her son and daughter Thomas and Tilly also play for the Under 9 and Under 8 teams respectively. She said: Having my children play for the club made it apparent to me that the club would really benefit from some large flags to act as markers to help the various Minis teams identify their correct team quickly, and also to help parents identify their children when they’re training and playing.

“As a long established St Neots company we wanted to help the Rugby Club and so offered to donate these flags to them  which we know will be put to good use. Barford + Co also attends the weekly The Lead Generation Club networking meetings at St Neots Rugby Club so we felt it important that we helped the Club in any way we could.

“We’re all really looking forward to the St Neots Festival of Rugby in April and seeing the flags in action. We think they look great and the children seem really pleased with them, too”.
